Gum / Periodontal Treatment
Flap surgery, or periodontal flap surgery, involves lifting the gum away from the teeth so that the roots and bone can be cleaned thoroughly. The gum is then repositioned and stitched.
It is generally advised when deep pockets and infection remain after non-surgical periodontal treatment. It can reduce pocket depth and make it easier to keep the area clean.
